Purification Detox

Clinical Purification Protocol BY STANDARD PROCESS*

Detoxification, digestion, and food sensitivities

Purification, also known as detoxification, can help you remove
natural toxins from your body and help maintain a healthy weight . We are exposed to external toxins on a daily basis . These include pollutants, pesticides, and chemicals . Internally, our bodies produce waste byproducts as a result of normal metabolic function . Although your body is designed to rid itself of these toxins naturally, it can become overburdened . Purification offers your body additional support to expel and metabolize these toxins and manage weight, which is important to maintaining your health and vitality .*

Toxins can contribute to a wide range of conditions:

  • Stuffy Head
  • Fatigue or difficulty sleeping
  • Indigestion or other temporary gastrointestinal upset
  • Food cravings or weight gain
  • Reduced mental clarity
  • Low libido
  • Skin issues
  • Joint discomfort

There are approximately 80,000 chemicals registered for use in the U.S. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that hundreds of these chemicals are present in our bodies. Some research shows that certain chemicals may affect our immune, endocrine, nervous, and reproductive systems.

The following are examples of external and internal toxins:

  • External Toxins
  • Air and water pollutants
  • Cigarette smoke
  • Certain personal care products
  • Heavy metals
  • Internal Toxins
  • Ammonia
  • Carbon dioxide
  • Free radicals
  • Certain household cleaning products
  • Pesticides
  • Preservatives and additives • Trans fats

Cleansing and revitalizing your digestive tract

In order to give your digestive system a break and help your body cleanse itself from the inside out, remove the following food items from your diet for a full 21 day period. Not only will this give your body a rest from digestive irritants, but it if you choose to reintroduce theses foods into your diet later on, you can do so one at a time. You will soon be able to tell if you are sensitive to a particular food by the way that you feel – your body’s natural wellness indicator. While on a purification program it is important for you to supplement your diet with nutrient dense foods and herbs that support all of the organs in your body that take part in the purification process.

What foods you should stop eating
For the next three weeks refrain from eating any:

  • Wheat (only exception, organic sprouted wheat berries)
  • Dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt, etc.)
  • Hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils
  • Refined sugars
  • Vinegar (except apple cider vinegar)
  • Caffeine (coffee, non-herbal iced tea, etc.)
  • Carbonated beverages
  • Eggs
  • Chicken or red meat (if you eat any meat, eat only wild game or hormone free lamb)
  • Peanuts
  • Alcohol (beer, wine, hard liquor, etc.)

If you are still hungry, increase your intake of whole food-based supplement shakes, fresh fruits, vegetables and plenty of water – at least eight glasses per day. Tip: squeeze some organic lemon into your water to add flavor and promote re-hydration. To help keep your body consistently focused toward the goal of purification, choose organically grown produce whenever possible.

What foods can you eat?
Become a smart shopper. Read labels and make sure you buy only those foods that contain none of the ingredients mentioned in the list above. For example, when you’re choosing a type of bread, make sure there is no wheat or refined sugar listed in the ingredients. Any other type of grain is acceptable. The easiest way to find these kinds of foods and to get a better variety is by shopping at a natural food store.
What to buy
  • Only distilled filtered or spring water
  • Fresh fruit and vegetables – organically grown, if possible
  • Brown, Thai, wild or basmati rice
  • Rice-based foods for example, rice cakes, crackers, bread made with rice flour, pasta, pancake mix, etc.
  • Non-medicinal herbal teas
  • Bottled fruit and vegetable juices, made from organically grown sources
  • Unheated cold-pressed flaxseed oil, hemp seed oil or oil blend that is high in essential fatty acids or olive oil.
Mental/Emotional cleansing
Going through a clinical purification program definitely impacts your physical health, but as an added benefit it also provides you with the opportunity to “clear out” some of the mental and emotional “stuff” that may be slowing you down. As you place less of a strain on your physical body by mindfully supporting your body’s natural purification process, you will likely find that your thoughts are clearer and you are better able to handle stress. This transformation welcomes the opportunity to look at and release any excess baggage that may be keeping you from feeling optimal health. Take a walk with an old friend and share your thoughts experiences and feelings with him or her. Keep a journal and write down what you are feeling. Talk to a health counselor that you trust. Do whatever you feel comfortable and safe doing that will facilitate your emotional mental and even spiritual transformation.
